VCE Results 2013 Countdown Thread
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:38:07 pm »
Surely 8 days isn't jumping the gun, is it? :P
Spoiler
If it is, feel free to lock this thread and I'll re-make it later.

VCE results are just around the corner and I'm sure we're all a giant mix of emotions at the moment. How is everyone feeling? :)

Personally, my emotions ride in waves. At first, I was more worried than anything and I kept brooding over errors (and potential errors) that I made in my exams and my expectations were in freefall. Then a sense of curiosity started to get mixed in, that I'll finally know after all this time just what numbers I'll be receiving. As we've gotten closer, I've started getting a bit more excited as well, since I really enjoy the atmosphere on the forums around results time and I'm looking forward to seeing others' happiness for their achievements. As someone who loved statistics in VCE Maths, I also like the whole numbers aspect behind it all too. I just can't wait to see what results I was capable of achieving after 13 years of schooling.

Feel free to use this thread to share the moment and ask questions.

For those who haven't yet accessed VCE results from http://resultsandatar.vic.edu.au/, this video might be beneficial in showing you what the interface looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMH64LCZRso

I still haven't read the exam discussion threads. I made a quick post of how I felt about the exam (and to mark it so I could come back later) and haven't looked since.

I'm still pretty annoyed at that last methods exam question with the k value and was able to keep that in check until I got some PTSD about it a few days ago. All in all, I'm feeling pretty confident but that's because I only had to worry about 2 subjects. I'm not having any definitive emotions at this point in time though. After my year 12 exams I still had my year 11 exams and then step up so I've still been occupied. As the date draws closer I'm not really noticing it but I know for a fact that Monday morning I'll be up along with everyone else in Victoria with my heart aflutter.

Next year though is going to be a rollercoaster and the knowledge that the end of it will be liberating is a nice thing to know.

ATAR = nerve-racking

I know for a fact that Monday morning I'll be up along with everyone else in Victoria with my heart aflutter.

^ exactly.

And just on this: I've been deliberately keeping busy to avoid thinking about the ATAR, but it still sneaks up on me, and then I drown in several 'what if's'. Usually use physical activity to stop me thinking about it - clean my room, vacuum.

I've also been keeping away from demoralising songs, like Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball. Makes me cry every time.

^ just a summary on my pre-ATAR routine for a laugh  :P

I'm so anxious about results day. I really don't want to set any expectations that could possibly demoralize me. At this very moment, to be as conservative as possible, I'm sticking to 40+ as what I want for Further and Biology, although realistically, I'd like more. Anyway, whatever I get cannot be changed, and I'll have to accept it.

I also drown in 'what ifs' and I really get myself worked up about it. Not so much about Biology, but more so about Further Maths. Even though I've actually checked my answers, and I know (based on the AN suggested solutions) that I've done pretty well, I'm still apprehensive. Biology I have only checked my MC answers, and I'm complete unsure about my expression in short answer.

I guess only time will tell how I've gone on these two subjects. Whatever it is, I'll be happy with, and then I'll get back to shifting my focus entirely on my 4 remaining subjects English, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods CAS and Physics, all of which I cannot wait to complete.

Good luck to everyone! :)

I'm going to a friend's birthday party the night before. Then I'm staying at his house over the morning of results coming out. I hope that helps deal with the inherent nerves of going onto the computer at 7 am to check scores. The mere thought of it sends chills down my back.

I can imagine the look of disappointment on my face when I see my scores. Sigh.

Out of curiosity, is it more important to hold rank 1 for sacs or a high sac score?
