Double degree with lower clearly-in than single degree dilemma

One of the courses I've got on my preferences is the double degree in Biomedical Science and Science, which, in the past, has had a lower clearly-in than the Biomedical Science degree. Being honest, I'd probably just prefer the single degree, but I was wondering if I didn't meet the clearly-in for the single degree but met it for the double degree, am I allowed to drop the Science component off and if so, when could I do this? Thanks.

Yes, dropping the BSc component is an option. However, it has historically had a higher ATAR requirement than straight Biomed (90.15 to single degree 90.00 in 2012, both of which were brought down by about 4 points to increase enrolment sizes).

Edit: You could probably drop the science component either after first semester or at the end of first year. If you have any specific questions about Monash biomed or the double degree, feel free to PM me :)

In the case you do decide to do the double degree and 'drop' the Science component, you'd have to do an internal transfer to Bachelor of Biomedical Science, which probably does require a certain average (70?). So, it's something to keep in mind. :)
