Pretty jiffed right now...

I've had multiple chronic illnesses this year (to a point where I could barely get to school more than two days a week) and so my VCE coordinator advised me that I should get a whole 5 aggregate points added to my ATAR.
However, I've added up all my scaled scores to get the exact aggregate score that it shows online and in the text I received - No extra SEAS stuff added.
Is the SEAS stuff meant to show up online and in text and in your final ATAR? Because from all the research I had done, I was pretty sure it's meant to... Or will it show up on the letter we get in the mail?

SEAS is added by the institutions not by VTAC. You don't find out how many points your score was boosted. It just happens and if you qualify you receive a first round offer.

Nope... all SEAS extra points, allowances etc are not 'official' in any way. The 5 points will be added by the selections officers at your preferred universities when they offer places to students. The extra points etc are only for selections and admissions purposes, modified/boosted ATARs won't show up anywhere on certificates or anything like that.

Is it possible for your unit 4 sacs to scale more than your unit 3 sacs? :/

My boyfriend got an atar of 52.4 and he's extremely gutted. I don't even know what to say to him :(

He's going to the army so doesn't need an atar but he's shattered. I feel useless.

Yes. As rankings for each unit are separate.

Tell him that there are still so many opportunities with 52.4 ATAR. You can still do I.T, Health Science, Arts etc. They are still very respected courses and can bring in a respectable income. A course that is 90 ATAR doesn't mean its better than a course with 50 ATAR.

Did he have any goals that he set? Really at the end of the day the ATAR doesn't mean much especially as he is following a path which doesn't need one. He's moving in the direction he wants to go and that's all that matters. That being said his feelings are valid and if you want to you can try to support him through them, but you should put yourself first and not let it effect you.

Really his ATAR isn't that bad and as long as it helps him move forward in life, it's served its purpose.

hi,
just wondering how does SEAS work ?
I have already applied for it, I heard that once you apply for it you automatically get into access Melbourne?
Also how does the first round offers work?
How many courses do we get offered?
thanks

Would you ever consider for a moment hiring a tutor with no prior teaching experience and a SS of 39 for the subject?
Was never worried about my atar, I was only concerned about my lit SS, and I'm so gutted with this result. I can't do anything with it and it's the only thing I've ever been "good" at in high school.http://www.atarnotes.com/?p=tutoring

Why not? As long as they can concisely and efficiently explain the concept, the tutor who scored a SS of 39 may potentially be better than those who scored higher! :)

Good luck!

He still beat over 50% of the state, its honestly nothing to sneeze at. At the end of the day, the ATAR only has as much meaning and weight as you give it. If he didn't need it, he should hardly look upon it as wasted or failing.
