First of all, congratulate with your amazing ATAR! To be honest with you, I don't think it is likely you will get an interview offer from Monash. I know people with 99.85 and ~82%tile, but that's the lowest UMAT I have heard for non-rural applicant.

How about JCU (medicine) and Griffith University (med provisional)? They only look at your ATAR.

Yeah, there's a lot of med school oppourtunities open to you in Australia with an ATAR of that calibre, but, bluntly, Monash is pretty off limits with a 61st percentile UMAT.  :-\

Unlikely to get a Monash interview (there is no second round btw) and next to impossible to get a Chancellor's spot either.

You'd get into Griffith prov with no worries though.

Oh my god are you past me? I also got 99.85 and had a umat in the 60s (68th percentile), and was offered a 'Scholarship of Excellence' to study Science @ Monash. I wasn't offered a med interview unfortunately....

:(
The interview selection process has altered this year though: could that affect the weighting of the ATAR as well?

Yeah but it's still pretty unlikely you'd get an interview with such a "low" UMAT.

Just read something on the griffith website regarding provisional entry into MD. Apparently if a gpa of 5.0 is met, theres no gamsat or interview???

Also because the interview process has changed this year to be 50% ATAR and 50% UMAT...could I get in on 2nd round offers?

There will be no 2nd round offers I am afraid  :(

sounds too good to be true hahah. How difficult would it be to maintain the 5.0 gpa? does the difficulty vary across unis?

I know someone there, it isn't too hard if you could manage the ATAR to get in :P

the atar required is 99.70+ isnt it? im not sure why that number is floating around in my head. in any case though, i feel as if there are some sort of strings attached to this? no interview seems a bit odd. so you just get that 5.0 and then youre in? or is the 5.0 some sort of minimum requirement like the 50-50-50 in umat?

Getting a 5.0 GPA equates to consistently getting just 60-64. It's a fairly big leeway and you'll almost certainly get higher than it if you study

Edited: Subject score.

Actually my bad, a 5.0 GPA is 60-64. But still, it's fairly easy to get higher.
