Do we need to know about the structure of different. Polysaccharides?

Such as if they are branched or straight chained?

Roughly, yes. Better to know what they do though to be honest. It is within the realms of possibility that VCAA could ask about the structures of the big three polysaccharides, but they're unlikely to do so.

Ohokay thanks! Is starch a branched molecule or straight chained? I always thought it was branched but a practice company paper said it was straight chained and the answers on Google were confusing. ..

Would it be correct to say that a selective pressure for larger brain size was the need to hunt and capture prey? I.e. humans with larger brains were capable of planning and cooperation, hence at a selective advantage.

What other selective pressures would favour a larger brain size?

-development of tools
- use of fire
- better adapt to changing environment
- cultural/tech evolution
- ease of life

The main thing is imagination and communication. As everything such as use of fire or cave paintings come under imagination and communication

So would you say that the selection pressure is "the need for communication" ?

In a sense. The selection pressure may be larger and stronger prey hence the need for cooperative hunting through communication is selected for.

Branched.

Starch is made up of two types of molecules, a branched molecule (amylopectin) and an unbranched molecule (amylose).
