Acetyl CoA isn't covered in most textbooks, so I thought that was quite rough.

I left question 29 at the end and guessed D (guess I got it wrong) but I still don't get why and it's killing me, so can anyone explain this to me too?

Thanks :)

Haha no, I highly doubt that. But if the wiki is correct, then technically answer C could be right too though couldn't it?

It's B because humans don't possess a sloping forehead and we have a chin. Furthermore, H.floresiensis were tiny and humans were already around 50 000 years ago :) It's just unlikely that modern humans were able to evolve from these dwarf creatures in 50 000 years.

Look no one had it worse than me today. OH :) DRAW A DIAGRAM? SURE PENCIL. MISTAKE? YES. RUBBER? MY SKIN. MOISTURE? MY SWEAT. (forgot my eraser at home) :)

Did those VCAA watcher people (LOL what are they called?) not have spare pencils and rubbers? My people did  :-\

I drew a cross to work this out.

Okay, so the parental genotypes are ttBb X TtBb, therefore:

    TB     Tb    tB     tb
tB TtBB  TtBb ttBB  ttBb
tb TtBb  Ttbb  ttBb  ttbb

Okay, so there are 6 diff. genotypes:
TtBB, TtBb, Ttbb, ttBB, ttBb, ttbb

And 4 diff. phenotypes.

Damn, I assumed it was a one of these type of crosses:

Should have read it properly  :P

Apparently they ran out for the kids doing eco and psych yesterday ._.

Did the same; however I felt like it was too much working out for a MC question.

Are you serious? omg ahaha that is actually so unlucky :\

I know right! And I initially interpreted my results incorrectly so I spent a good 5 minutes on those two questions.  >:(

haha i meant that i thought both parents were heterozygous for both allele's which is incorrect as parent 2 is homozygous for height.

Oh okay :') DW, we're all in the same boat! I had a mini anxiety attack during the exam because the questions really caught me off guard. I miss the straightforward questions!

Do you reckon we would get a mark taken off for correctly drawing the amino acid structure but not labelling the amine or the carboxyl group?

im not sure. i drew the correct structure but didn't label any parts of it because we never learnt that in class?? so im not sure what they'll do :(

I'm pretty sure it said to draw labelled diagrams...but I honestly was so shocked that they put that in there I didn't even revise that because I thought it wasn't part of the study design :/
