It is important to keep in mind that it is the holidays. Don't get too wrapped up in study that you burn out before school even starts! Personally I do 3-4 hours per day since I only recently started.

I guess for me it fluctuates where around about now it's less than an hour but once when it's close to the start of school, I'd probably crank it up to 5-6 hours just to get back into the rhythm of school again :P

I wanted to start studying on Sunday but I haven't even considered opening a book. I'm hoping by tomorrow I've have some sort of sleep routine in order, waking up before my usual 10:30AM start to the day feeling dreadful.

I would love to just study two hours a day making some notes and obtaining an idea of what I'm getting myself into this year. I don't see much point in doing more as you'll cover it at school and you'll probably forget it after learning it.

4-5 hours daily but at a relaxed pace though, probably only get 3 hours work done in this period. I take maybe 2-3 off days every 2 weeks or so where i do nothing school-related :)

Right now? It's at 0.
I'm just barely starting to get back into the habit by doing a little bit of spesh work. Maybe not getting ahead of my class as I had originally hoped, but staying on top of the work given to me.
By next week though I'll be in a better habit. I'll start writing my oral and reading my texts.

WAT. Term two holidays you're meant to have a break completely and term three holidays you are meant to go nuts with study.

Guys I just want to point out:

Everyone goes about studying differently so don't get too wrapped up on how long other people are studying and whether you should study that long.
Do what works for you.
It's completely fine for one to study for 2 hours or 5 hours a day.. Its quality not quantity!

Just make sure you are taking it easy and make sure you relax. Once it's Term 3 holidays ... it's the time for you guys to hammer away at practice exams... and if you didn't have relax theseholidays... you will be incredibly drained and possibly burnt out.
You want to be at your best come exam time.

This is really a wake up call for me!
I haven't touched the books for a while now. Just been asking and answering questions on the forum when things come to mind...

Answering questions is still perfectly fine! Most of the time answering a question involves an explanation so if you can explain it to someone through your words then you're still learning right?
It just means that you've consolidated your learning skills (which is better since you're typing it down rather than speaking it so it would almost be like a worded response pretty much imo).

Oh wow, really? I did almost the exact opposite of that this year. Was I truly "meant" to do what you suggest? And if I had, could I perhaps have attained an atar of 100? ;)

Number of study hours and the periods over which you study are entirely individual. You should take any advice that you get on the topic with a grain of salt, and you'll figure out what is best for you pretty quickly. Most people I know soon found a balance between burning out from over-studying and relaxing too much.

Just as a word of caution, seeing as these threads seem to promote the mentality that you should study at least 25 hours per day, I must echo the message that study is a matter of quality over quantity. And if you succumb to this mentality and do burn out, don't panic. Let yourself have a break for a day/week/fortnight (or at least a more relaxing day/week/fortnight) to recover and regroup. Just promise that you'll come back fighting.

Currently doing none, but at the start of holidays it got to almost 8-9 hours.
I have so much to do, so I think I'll need about 5 hours per day to finish it if I start next week.
