You can only do linear algebra and Calc 2 if you do bioengineering stream.  for the normal stream (most biomeds), you do Mathematics for Biomedicine and Experimental Date and Design
Is it possible to do the Bioengineering Systems Pathway during semester 1, and withdrawing during semester 2 to do Physics for Biomedicine if one changes their mind? I assume linear algebra would also no longer be available in semester 2 if this were the case?

I think you can.

Calc 2 and lin algebra are available in both semesters, and summer incidentally.

If you wanted to keep the option of doing engineering in the future, (i.e a 3 year masters of engineering) but do not want to continue with the bioengineering pathway, you could do calculus 2 in semester 1, and do linear algebra and physics for biomedicine in semester 2. this means, you'll have to leave out engineering system design 2, which is no big deal, if you're not wanting to continue with bioengineering.

Thanks. I'll most likely be doing the bioengineering pathway but it's nice to know that it's possible to drop ESD2 while retaining linear algebra!

I am confused by the above discussion and I AM a Bioengineering major. I don't understand why you don't just take all three (Linear Algebra, ESD2, Physics). But anyway. Have fun :) PS You probably already know this but don't take ESD1.

It's because in Biomed, we don't have enough spaces to do all of them, since there are core subjects that we have to do. Whereas in Science, you have to flexible to choose your own subjects.

Question if I want to do graduate medicine after Biomed @ UoM, is there any specific subjects that I have to opt to pick in the 1st year?? I mean I only had the core subjects and which physics pathway that suits me plus breadth (Italian!) do I get to choose more than specific core in year 2 or 3 that's prereq for medicine???? Annnd how many majors I can do (1 I'm guessing?), I know people in Arts that have done two, but I'm thinking that's just Arts haha not Biomed applicable?

The core subjects cover all the prereqs, so you don't have to worry as much if you are going into graduate medicine from Biomed. For Biomed, you can only do one major. As far as I'm aware, Arts students need to do a major and a minor, and Commerce students can choose to do a double major (provided that they do not plan to major in something like Actuarial Studies).
