Does anyone know which biology tutor/ company is best, and if a tutor or a company would be better for 3/4 Biology. The ones I know of so far are tsfx, neap, connect education?
Thanks.

Hi Chang Feng,

I attended the master classes for biology and I found them really useful. They provide you excellent notes, loads of commercial practise exams and other stuff as well. They go over topics you have learnt in school, and go over tricky questions that you might encounter in your exam. So I do endorse this.

My friends who didn't go to TSFX went to a guy named Dr Perera. He is a VCE biology tutor, he has been teaching groups for several years now. I did not go to him but my friends say that he was really good. I have his number if you are interested.

Best of luck,

Rod

2015-2018:| Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) @ UoM
2019-X:| Doctor of Dental Surgery (discontinued)
2019 -2021:| Master of Physiotherapy

Currently: Physiotherapist working at a musculoskeletal clinic. Back pain, sore neck, headaches or any other pain limiting your study? Give me a PM (although please do see your personal health professional first!)

Any questions related to pathways towards studying dentistry or physiotherapy? Gimmi a PM!

thanks Rod,
ahha i shall consider it then, just thinking if it would be worth the travel time to go there or would there be enough materials without TSFX to do like really well in biology at home (i went to their summer lecture for biology, and shall consider doing the winter and end of year one too).- so in comparison to their summer lecture notes, they provides extra questions, are there more notes??? i live around the laverton area in the far west (ahha i think i heard of that tutor, but he tutors in mill park yeah- damm like the entire other side of city. damm the west.

Extra questions yes, but sadly no more notes. In my opinion, I got 38 in biology, if I hadn't gone to TSFX, but had their notes from summer school/winter school + those heaps of practise exams I would have got the same 38. So I don't think it's crucial that you attend, their notes are gold but their classes aren't as good.

Perera does live in Mill Park, most good tutors do unfortunately lol. You are lucky to live in the west, I live somewhere really far, far away ! Literally no tutors at all where I live.

Aww wow you must live far, and I thought I lived far from tutors. Oh sorry could I just ask in general how good are TSSM and NEAP, or the same standard as TSFX- for the maths, science, and English subjects if you know. My friend asked, thanks if you know.

Oh and also just wondering where do you get the heaps of Pratice papers, cause you can only buy so many, and not sure if my school give that much either. Thanks for the help.

Try and talk to your school. I got most papers from my school (they had at least 10 papers for most subjects).

Sorry I only attended biology for TSFX, so can't really comment on others. In my opinion, for biology you don't really need a tutor. I only went to TSFX because I was in year 11 and had the time too, also because some people were saying that all the 99ers go to TSFX, but it's not true. I don't even think their ('Our average ATAR in 2012 was 96) is accurate either, how would they possibly know what their students got? Once again their notes for me were excellent, classes not so much.

Ask people/teachers/friends. Do not buy them, 20 dollars per paper is absolutely ridiculous. I got mine by asking friends and teachers.

Wow rod, a 38 is great! What did you do/would do differently to study for bio? I'm taking 3/4 next year and would love to hear what you have to say :) I had a chat to Dr Perera over the phone a few days ago and he seems awesome.
