I'm also interested in the answer to this question. Due to Semester availability of subject's I'd like to do, and lecture clashes, I have to do 4 Arts subjects in Semester 1, followed by 2 Arts and 2 Breadth in Semester 2. It's allowed me to enrol in these, but is it a good idea to have it structured like that?

Not really any issues with it provided everything stacks up with prereqs and whatnot :)

Just means that you'll have to do 4 subjects from your field of study in one semester, which isn't ideal but still, it's not a bad idea

As long as you don't exceed the 37.5 breadth threshold for level 1, it's fine. Well, actually I don't know how strict they are with regard to this.

Given that it's a threshold, you can't exceed it :P

As others have said there are really no consequences, other than that if you're doing subjects from three different faculties like I was semester 1 2013 (Arts, Commerce and Science), your class times might be all over the place.

Class times are often all over the place even when you're taking subjects from the same faculty ;) It's the reason I'm not doing Chemistry: Reactions and Synthesis this semester :'<

Yeah that's certainly true. Most of the times there are patterns within the same faculty though at the very least (which on occasion leads to clashes which are the bane of my existence omg).

I did Intro Micro and Finance 1 in first semester. For me, it meant that I had to do 4 science subjects in second semester but it didn't really matter
