Hey everyone!
I've received the Monash scholarship for equity and excellence which can be paid either into my bank or directly towards my uni fees. I was wondering if the 10% student discount still applies if I choose to pay it directly to fees?
Thanks
I believe it does, but you should definitely check with Monash on Tuesday

but basically, i believe you pay 90% and the government pays the 10% IF YOU PAY UPFRONT! however, even though you have the scholarship, monash doesn't give you the entire scholarship in one go... i'm not sure how much your scholarship is, but for mine, i get $12000 per year for 5 years... where $6000 is issued around april and the other $6000 is issued around september. now my fees are about $50000... so i obviously won't be able to pay upfront. but if you refer to that link, you also get some sort of discount if you pay part of your fees!
Like simba, I'm a recipient of the Excellence and Equity scholarship, and like most long-term scholarships at Monash you get payed half the annual worth, twice a year prior to the beginning of each semester (as you've mentioned here). You
are able to pay some of your fees with the semester's allocation, as the fee payment deadline occurs a while after you receive that semester's funds.
You are also able to set up a system where the entirety of your scholarship funds go towards paying off your fees, but I believe that this is a one-off choice and you can't change it once you elect to do so.
Hope this helps

EDIT: There's also no problem with paying
some of your fees upfront with part of your scholarship money (you'd need to do this manually via the Monash website), but I'm unsure whether you get the discount if you do this.
