Is Specialist 1&2 directly related to Specialist 3&4?

I'm planning to do Specialist 3&4 next year and I was wondering if it was possible if you could make that jump like you could in other subjects such as Biology or Chemistry. Are the topics covered in Spesh 3&4 the same as the topics covered in Spesh 1&2?

Many thanks!

Yep, you can make that jump. Many schools don't even run Year 11 Spesh, then run Year 12 Spesh.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

Well there's no real set guidelines on what school teaches in their Specialist classes for 1&2 so you'll find that there's a difference in topics which schools go through. Having said that, there are some topics which are the same which many schools go through which do come up in 3&4 (like vectors for example).

I'm sure having spec 1/2 would help slightly, but 3/4 is very possible to do without 1/2. Our school didn't offer Advanced General Maths (Spesh 1/2) in Year 11 and offered the subject in Year 12 for 4 students. We managed without 1/2 knowledge. It might take a little bit more effort to try and understand or get your head around the concepts but it can be done if you have the right attitude and are willing to put in the time to improve. :)

Good luck!
