It's an assessment of your ability to communicate scientific knowledge, so your writing skills will definitely come into it. That's in conjunction with your science knowledge, of course.
thanks so much

This is my format:

Introduction
Cram Info
Cram Info
Cram Info

Draw images/tables/diagrams
Conclusion

Do we get marked on our actual writing skills as well as our scientific knowledge?

Drawing diagrams in the middle of each body paragraph could also help to give a more visual look to what you're trying to explain. Try include diagrams in your essays though, so long as they do connect with what you're saying ;)

Hmm, thats actually a brilliant idea. Are you sure they do not penalise marks because it is incorrect structure? Or does not matter? Did you do that? So a diagram with each body?  ;D

I have done the textbook chapter summaries now  ;D ;D ;D
Just recapping and making notes about Newtons laws now. Can someone explain to me clearly, in kiddy terms (lol), the difference between velocity, speed and acceleration. With meanings to each! Thansk so much  8)
Vector quantity - A quantity that has both a numerical value and a direction, like 15km/h S.
Scalar quantity - A quantity that only has a numerical value, like 15km/h
Velocity - A vector quantity of how fast an object is traveling, and which direction it is travelling in
Speed - A scalar quantity of how fast an object is travelling, with only a numerical value
Acceleration - Change in velocity in a certain amount of time, can be written as *draw triangle* velocity

Why does everybody hate biology so much? I know it's nothing fancy, but it can be quite interesting at times.

Yeah, it's alright I suppose... I take back my ranting about plants though, did some study on the structure of leaves the other day and it was pretty interesting :P. So if plants/photosynthesis come on the test, I should survive ;).

Hahaha, I LOVE biology. Mainly microbiology. Really want to begin studying that, JMSS is perfect for that. Man, I really want to get in  :-\

ooh, microbiology sounds very interesting indeed ;D I actually like biology a lot, haha and I watched a
short video about JMSS and they said that the year 10s will do some kind of squid dissection if you choose to do marine biology!!
Yay! sounds really exciting doesn't it?  ;)

Last year was a squid dissection, and the year before was a bull shark dissection! Although elective wise, I would probably go for Physics Unit 2 and Pharmaceutical Science/Nano Technology/From Cells to Systems

WHOOO PHARMA POWER!!!!! IF YOU HAVE THE TEACHER THAT I DID THIS YEAR, YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE!! OUR EXAM IS BASICALLY A PRAC, AND THEN A SHORT MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAM!!!
2013: John Monash Science School - 05/09/13
2015: Mathematical Methods (CAS)
2016: English | Chemistry | Specialist Mathematics | Biology | MUEP - Mathematics

Bump.
Only two weeks to go! I'm so excited and nervous!
hey man me too. I am strangely excited but also crazily nervous and pleading for more time haha!
I think I am kinda ready. Bit worried for all the science parts to be honest. Hopefully the essay questions are not WTF ones and ideas come quickly to my brain! Gotta work on science reasoning with some more ICAS! The ICAS one is difficult to with 1 minute per question, hopefully JMSS isnt like that. Summary of my feelings:

Maths: Confident.
Numerical Reasoning: Possibly Confident.
Science Reasoning: In progress haha.
Science Interest: Depends on topic.
Science Communication: Probably on Physics (most years it has been), so confident.

How about everyone else.
:D
