Haha yeah .
An alpha particle is basically a helium nucleus emitted from a highly unstable atom/ion (Uranium), that is travelling pretty fast. However, even clothing is strong enough to block it, and the only danger it poses is that it can cause lung cancer if inhaled.

Entropy is basically the disorder/chaos in a system, and is the basis of thermodynamic laws 2&3.

#1 - Is it the cerebellum? I hate brain anatomy so I know little about it .
#2 - The liver produces bile, which is then stored in the gall bladder.
#3 - The pancreas produces digestive amalayse, lipase, nucleases and proteas I think... (Might be something else)

Thanks man! Here's the answers:

#1 - Sort of has something to do with them lol. An ionic bond is basically a bond where two or more atoms recieve or donate electrons, so that they can all have a full valence/outer shell. An example is NaCl, or table salt, because the sodium donates one electron to the chlorine, so they both fulfil the octet rule (Sorry if that was terrible wording)
#2 - A temporary magnet is formed when a metallic object enters the magnetic field of a permanent magnet, and thus becomes magnetised. The effect goes away when the magnetic field is taken away though
#3 - Nucleotides form nucleic acids

Rlly? Is jmss easier than Nossal,mhs n stuff for yr 10? That's awesome.
The Nossal maths and nr are quite good, but did run out of time a bit 
So if jmss is easier, then that is awesome! How are you guys feeling?
I'm pumped for maths and nr. Bit worried about science because I only receive like 27/45 for the science ICAS test in the respective time limit. Hopefully it is easier. Hope the essay topic is decent haha! Then again, they wouldn't put a topic NO ONE would have any clue on. They would put something that people know at least a little about. Like senses, anatomy, plants, food transfer etc.

Kinda excited tbh! Doing the Nossal yr 10 gave me a boost! Bring it on JMSS!

1 week to go... it's really worrying me that we have no idea what the topics for the writing pieces are... for those of you wanting to know how to write a "science essay" I had a look round and there is a really good format on Monash uni's site I have attached the basic format but there is loads of other tips and stuff! hope this helps good luck

I'm pretty prepared with maths (just need to go over basic quadratics and geometry). Nowhere near your level with science though. I keep accidentally leaving my science book at school on the weekends

I've been studying lots though. Planning to do 5-6 hours today

I did it under exam conditions and finished with about 30 seconds left. It's a shame there aren't any answers for it, or else I would be able to mark how well I went. At least I know that I'm able to finish the test in time.

my studying is going quite well I have completely finished year 9 science and I'm half way through the year 10 curriculum.. think I might go back and revise year 8 again do you reckon it would be worth looking at year 7?? for maths does anyone know if we need to know parabola? I know there will be trigonometry, but I'm not sure about Parabola as it's considered year 10 in some maths textbooks..

Not worth while going back to Year 7 maths! Year 8 should be the furthest back to go! Parobola's will most likely be on the test haha! But the question might be like; "What equation does this graph represent" or vice-versa!

you should be fine with the maths maybe just go over some year 10 stuff just in case.. tbh i really don't think we will need VCE level stuff but if you have time look through it, just don't confuse yourself get a list of fun facts! I think if you can include some of those in your essay it will separate us from the average
