Just be positive on the day and you should do fine. I haven't studied many topics in science but have a lot of knowledge from doing extension work at school and listening.

The essay shouldn't cover anything too advanced like quantum physics or knowing what the different parts of DNA do (although I would love to have that as a topic), so as long as you have been focused in science class at school you should be fine. Studying just helps lots when trying out for these things, but it doesn't matter how much you study as long as you have a passion for science :)

I am pretty sure that they will give us a topic that people know at least a bit about. Probably year 8 curriculum as it was the last few years (cells, separating, plants etc). Hopefully it is about energy transfer and photosynthesis!  :)
Is anyone else having trouble going to sleep these days? Last 2 days, I went at 9pm and fell asleep 12am-1am! It may be because I am sick or may be the nerves!  :( Btw, half of the people get an interview??? Thats pretty good honestly!  ;D :D
:D

BTW guys, you know with the ICAS test paper, how long do you guys work on it??
For maths, i try to make it 30secs (sometimes a bit more) every questions
and for science, i try to make it 45 secs per questions...

Oh wow looks like allot of you guys are really prepared. I'm so lost right now, I have no clue on what I'm supposed to be revising/studying on.
Also whats this about essays on the exam, are we just supposed to write about what we know? or does the topic give instructions on what to write.

I do year 10 Icas papers for maths and science and I usually get the maths done in 40 minutes excluding the ones where you have to give your own answer. I don't do those because we won't get them and I am still pretty slow............
I am still worried about essays  :(
Good luck to you all :D

Refer to this:
(link removed due to request)
for all the details on the test and what you need to take. It should explain everything.

It doesn't really specify exceptions for other items such as the myki card, because I will be departing by train and I will need my phone/myki/wallet etc.

You should be allowed to carry that on your person, just keep it with the rest of the stuff that you're bringing.

Hello Godzerah, you are to bring your belongings in a clear plastic bag eg. those big zip lock bags
Hahaha and phones are strictly not permitted into the premises

Yeah, make sure you turn your phone off completely (if you are going to have it with you). I would actually suggest (politely) asking one of the people there to hold onto your phone for the duration of the test and get it back at the end.
