My interview is tomorrow. :) nervous right now! Does any one have any idea on the questions they might ask on the 1-to-1 interview?

Yeah, I mean most of what they are looking for is if you are actually or truly passionate about science.

My interview is tomorrow. :) nervous right now! Does any one have any idea on the questions they might ask on the 1-to-1 interview?
If you are passionate about science then give it your best shot and I'm sure you'll get into JMSS  ;D some questions to help you might be:
When did you like science?
What are your goals?
Have you participated in any science projects/competitions?
Oh and also try to know more about JMSS (in case they ask you) ;D ;D
I'm sure you'll do fine ;)
Goodluck
:D

If I was JMSS, I'd ask "In your 3 years of JMSS, what do you hope to achieve for yourself and the school?"

Food for thought :)

I couldn't resist but register an AN account and point out that my interview is allocated in the same time slot as yours on the 11th. Congratulations to you and all the others for receiving an interview. ;u;

NICE  8)
perhaps we will be in the same group for the teamwork activities

BTW does anyone know how the group activities run, and any tips?

I had my interview today! It was fun, especially the group activities. But when it came to the 1 to 1 interview, i may have not smiled as much as I was supposed to and i stuttered 2 times.. :( does any one think that that will affect my outcome.. :( But I think I answered the questions well  :)
and for the problem solving, I couldn't work it out so I just wrote down as much as I could...
is that ok as well? :(

dammit.. I'm so worried..  :-\

Glad to hear that it went well minosne! And personally I wouldn't be too worried by it all since it's the quality of your answers that matter most :)
As for Problem Solving.. well when I did it I couldn't solve it myself and look where I am now!

But yeah just in general but just don't post out the group activities that you do, what the problem solving task was or interview questions here since it serves as a disadvantage to you and others) but more importantly keep it fair.
And it's not cool to pressure other people to tell as well..

Good luck to the rest of you who have your interviews soon and hope you enjoy JMSS whilst you're there!

Had an interview today. It was pretty fun, and I really worried waaay too much for how it would be. ;)

Yeah, I suppose I did pretty well. I'm not going to spoil it for any of you other guys, the experience just wouldn't be the same if I told you how everything went. Good luck SKGUN11! I'm sure you'll do well! :D

Yay nice stuff! I'm sure you will do super well SKGUN, you have the passion for science so all you have to do is express it :).

I'm unfortunately saving my preperation for the weekend, since I have four assessments due on Friday :(.

Thanks man, I hope you did great too! I also found it quite fun tbh! I talked a lot and tried to be a leader. My group was pretty good, they were friendly, fun and smart. The interviewer was really nice too. We talked for a while, and I asked a few questions! I wont spoil it either for the other people because it is unfair, however I can say, it is not at all hard or intimidating. What time were you? Did you complete the maths problem?

Haha yeah, thanks. You have nothing to worry about, everyone there is friendly, just try to talk a lot and be a leader, but dont take over - haha! Try to talk to people whilst waiting at the beginning, it helps you feel for comfortable talking. Just acknowledge everyones thoughts and express you opinion as much as possible.
:D

Fairly, nervous for tomorrow............
What if everyone tries to be the leader? What do I do then?
I'm not that type of person who would fight for a role, but I think its necessary. I want to be leader but also friendly and accepting people opinions :D

I just remembered for the interview I've forgotten to say some of the real important things that may have improved the quality of my answers. Is the interview going to affect the chance of me getting into jmss real bad?????

its not alll about the interview and hey, maybe they were interested in the things you still said! Im pretty sure that the group activities contribute more to your chance of getting in, and if you did well in that, you might as well get in :D
