I'm using the Essential Methods book. And we're basically just finished cubic and quartic functions.

Haha, we call them SACs even though it's just 1/2. Perhaps it's to prepare us for 3/4 - less daunting? O.o

LOL my school calls it 'SACs' for 1&2 as well! And I think my friends are up to cubics/quartics as well (from what my friend asked me to help them with [we use Essentials]).

Though word of advice... put effort in Methods 1&2 (getting good foundation) if you want to do well in 3&4 (like don't complete your Unit Plans a week before the due date LOL T_T)

Haha good foundations, asian parents, the correlation >.<

To be fair, it's nowhere near as important as stressed. If you're doing 3/4s this year, put more time into them, you may never get a second chance. Methods is learnable through the holidays and plenty of 3/4 is consolidation of 1/2.

what do you mean by this?

(like don't complete your Unit Plans a week before the due date LOL T_T)

and yeah, will defiantly put more time into 3/4s. Im doing further this year, its too easy and I'm getting bored and hardly putting time into it. I am working ahead of the class so when i do have hw e.g. complete x chapter by next week, id already have ti done.

I don't know what your school calls them but for Methods we get these things called 'SUPS' (Student Unit Plans) which basically detail what work we need to complete for homework throughout the year (there are deadlines that need to be met). Of course it's not assessed as such (for 3&4 anyway) but you want to continue to complete the Unit Plan rather than cram because you won't learn anything (did it a couple of times last year and I got killed on the semester exams LOL >.<

Further's meant to be easy. Apparently 1 mark lost on the final exam altogether meant a 49 raw instead of a 50.

Good luck have fun! And that's why I do spesh xD

:O You're already up to those? We're also using Maths Quest and we're only just finishing Ch 2 on Quadratics and we're having a SAC on it in about 2 weeks.

So far we've had an analysis task and a test on the Linear stuff.

We're up to Quadratics, LOL!
It feels like Year 9 all over again.
Apparently, we're meant to cover Quadratics again in Year 12...yikes!!!
