Trinity College Young Leaders Program

So I didn't know exactly where to post this but figured the UoM board would be the most appropriate place!

I've heard about this program around last year and it seems really interesting but the one thing that keeps me from going is the cost (it's $1650 for a week which is quite a bit for just one week if you're not on a scholarship...)

I'm just wondering if anybody here has been a part of the program and could give me some insight into this program (and maybe detail a bit about which stream you chose [I'm interested in Biomedicine and Leadership for Social Justice]) and tell me if it is worth it (because it certainly looks great but I just want to be sure first I guess...)

a very close friend of mine went and said it was awesome not just for fun but learning interesting stuff and good people, i still see him talk to them on facebook (wallposts etc.)
if you dont get a scholarship only go if you can comfortably afford it because 1.6k is alot of money

Ooh that sounds good!!
And yeah you have to fit certain criteria for scholarships so probably won't be me LOL (and my latest report from school doesn't really show 'strong' academic performance as such as well LOL [since they want you to submit your latest report too...]).
I'll probably wait for the December Program so I can get a better chance at it though LOL if it's happening again this year though!

I highly doubt that! I'm very sure you're more than just hardworking and a highachiever! And personally, I think you shouldn't just wait for the December program- give it a shot --- miracles do happen :P

Oh wow never realised you were a KLD Scholar too LOL but you'd be surprised how many of us are here ;)
But the email and the website doesn't say much about the December Program and its deadline so I'm unsure.. I've already emailed them so I'll find out later on though!

And yeah you stay in Melbourne LOL (they were talking about Melbourne Airport since some Internationals come along for the program as well!)

Haha thanks nerdmmb but it's just my recent report doesn't reflect any of that so that's why the December Program looks like a better choice for me if the deadline is different for that program so I have a new report at the end of Semester One for this year!
Which one are you thinking of applying for (I assume you're going to apply for one right)?

haha true.. I was surprised actually- we should have our own group chat or something :P
Ohh I thought so, I got excited for a while and thought wow we're probably going to be travelling or something !

Fair enough! But do consider giving it a shot so you'll be familiar with the process :D I was interested in going before I found out it was for two weeks so now I'm considering the December one too- I hope they give us another shot for an application before that though!

Will you be going to the Case Competition on the 29th March ? I tried speaking to a few people last time but it just ended up being awkward :P haha it'll be great if all the AN KLD members could somehow converse with eachother on the day :D

Haha it only goes for one week depending on the stream that you choose but there's another KLD event during Week 2 which is another reason why December Program looks better LOL

And I've already registered for the event (just need to pick which one [probably health]) and I only talked to a few people at the first event but the ones I talked with catch the same train as me :D
But with the KLD group on FB I think this event won't be so awkward as the first event LOL

Haha but I'm looking forward to this one (hope the foods better this time) :P

I was the one that screwed us all up by going 1000000minutes over time

Hey that just indicates that you at least knew your content.

I was completely lost throughout the whole thing. Don't think commerce is for me.
