Hi,
I was wondering if we are allowed to type up our notes for the bound reference. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to bind it all together. Any suggestions? It seems the majority of people are using an exercise book to write their notes in. Could I glue my typed notes into an exercise book?

I believe you are allowed to type up your notes for your bound reference and certain that you can glue it into an exercise book that's A4 or smaller. You should glue it so that it's not folding out (so cut it so it fits directly on the page). You can have a look here if there's any other concerns on bound references: Exam Rules

As for binding... just go to Officeworks to get it bound and you can use one specified by VCAA for example (if you're not going to stick it into an exercise book):

Quote
The form of binding is not specified but it must be secure, and pages must not be readily detachable or designed to be removed. Binding can include cloth, glue, staple, spiral or comb binding.

My teacher gives us typed up notes that we annotate in class.
I am sticking these into an A4 exercise book as my bound reference for SACs and the end of year exam. My teacher has been an assessor and says this is fine to do, and many students choose this way of making their reference.

I can confirm that last year for his methods exam, my friend took in the bound notes supplied by TSFX, which were about an inch or two thick of printed material, just bound together at officeworks. I wouldn't suggest bringing in that many notes, btw, but you certainly can if you want to.
