Coefficient of Restitution vs Temperature EPI

Hi guys,

I am trying to work out why hotter polymer balls will bounce better than cold ones.
i understand in the case of hollow balls, but a solid one I am stumped.
I have been reading about it and people are quoting things like it increases the balls elasticity, but can anyone actually explain why?
I know that this may not be relevant to VCE Physics but nonetheless any help is greatly appreciated.

well if you make polymer hotter you make the length of bonding much larger..which increases elasticity...I cant fully answer your question though

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_length sorry for sloppy wording..have a look at here as well..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_elasticity looks like elasticity is proportional to temperature.
