Scaling of SACs due to exam

I know that the standard VCE Study Scores system is as follows:
1) You get your own exam score for the 'exam' component.
2) You get the exam scores that correspond with the ranking of your SAC marks for the 'SAC' component.

HOWEVER, is there any exception to this rule? I've heard from others that people who received average/poor rankings for SACs have had their SAC component scaled up a lot due to AMAZING performance on their exam/s. Is there any truth to this at all??? Does the VCAA ever look at an individual students' performance if things don't seem to be adding up or is everything the same for everyone regardless?

Anyone know what happens if you perform really well on sacs thought the year, and they were really hard sacs, but come exam time you have a panic attack and stuff up, what happens?

Well if you stuff up the exams, you won't be getting a good study score regardless of your SAC scores.

To the OP, I'm pretty sure SAC scaling is relative to your ranking and cohort strength. Unless you have an incredibly strong cohort where everyone in your cohort will score an A+ at the end of the year exam, and you rank last in SACs will you still net an A+ in SACS (if you get an A+ in the exam)
I'm not sure if there are many exceptions, there may be... but don't rely on super exam scores increase your sac scores.
Just try you're best in everything. SACs are suppose to provide you feedback as to how you are going throughout the year, and highlight areas to improve in.

Chances are if are getting pretty poor/average SACS at school, it will be an unrealistic expectation that you smash the exams unless you start doing things differently now.
