Chemistry Study Score: Is the dream dead?

Hey guys, I got my overall for Unit 3 Chemistry,
Although I tried to make up for my poor efforts in term 1, I managed to get 88/100 giving me a B+ overall for chemistry (according to the Grading Distribution on VCAA). I was just shy one mark from an A average and am quite worried as to whether this will affect my chances to get a 40 and above. Is the dream dead or am I just being too worried over nothing?
Looking forward to your responses, thanks!

Could you link me the Grading Distribution on VCAA?

88/100 is a great effort buddy, if you ace your exam, that 40+ is well within your reach.
Good luck.

Keep in mind that your sacs will get moderated. Your raw score doesn't matter, it's your ranking that counts.

I got low 70s  for method, honestly thought I'd get a b+, a at best but ended up getting an a+ in sacs.

Unless your school has ridiculously easy sacs, I doubt your 88/100 will be a b+.

Even if you did get a b+, (I doubt it, if you have been studying consistently) you can still get a 40+.
Remember unit 3 sacs account for only one fifth of your mark. You still have unit 4 sacs and the exams.

Best of luck.

Ah, I see. I am about rank 3 in the cohort I think, I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the reply!

Definitely probably a bit over worried. Not only is the B+ according to the grade distribution not relevant, as it could still scale to an A+, even if it didn't and just scaled to a low A, a 40+ is still possible with a dominant second semester and dominant exam. If you didn't do well on term one and got 88, I don't see why your second semester couldn't balance out your first semester.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

Yeah, I probably am a bit too perturbed. Thanks for the encouragement, appreciate it ! :)

NO! The dream is not dead, your confidence is.

Your sac scores are ONLY affected by your exam score so please don't be discouraged..
and who/what's stopping you right now? It's not your sac scores, it's you!

And mind you, an 88/100 is not too bad- in fact it's a great score - near A+. What makes you think you won't be able to ace it?

I used to average a 60-70 in GMA last year but had I lost confidence in myself, I would have not been ranked first in methods now. And despite this ranking, I recently scored a 64 but I won't let these two digits dictate my future or my level of determination.

GO & ACE THAT CHEM EXAM and remember what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You're clearly an ambitous student but even the best of the best face failures but how they combat these failures is what makes them best at what they're doing!

Good luck and I hope you perform extremely well (whihc you will- only if you believe in yourself and maintain your ambitious attitude)! :D
