You'll be fine if you're getting off on the outbound side since that's close to the PSO's and the ticket office, but if you have to get to the citybound platform then ye shall have to venture through the underpass of death where the safety mirrors have bullet holes and the graffiti actually adds a touch of class.

Seriously, I used to live near there and I've been mugged and assaulted more times than I can remember; if you have the option, go to Jacana Station instead; it's all above ground so the PSOs can watch you get from the train to your car safely, unlike Broady where it's 'lol, out of sight, out of mind.'
Way easier to get a parking spot too, especially if you know you're coming home late.

Alterna-plan: call up a friend and stay on the phone with them from the time you get off the train to the time you get in your car. Or just dial two 0's in your phone, just to be prepared.

Nah in all seriousness tho, i'm going at like 10am and am strong and quick for my age haha (and have decent judo training). But yeah sometimes I actually call up mates and have reeeeeally loud phone conversations about stupid topics when im in dodgy places lol

Haha Lauren im glad im not the only one here who has had to witness the trauma associated with the Broadmeadows station. As lauren said, if you're getting to/from the city loop train, I will pray for you as you walk through the underground alleyway where pre-teen thugs lean against the wall and prey you down as their music blasts through their $19.99 bluetooth speaker that their parents bought them for their 11th birthday. At times, you can even smell the fear of others who have just passed these thugs, but their minds still ponder as they use their peripheral vision to catch a last glimpse of the gangsters and ensure that they're not being chased with knives.

Oh btw I might actually be catching the same train tomorrow, to grab a haircut, look out for me haha.. Ill be your body guard

LOL! I had to walk past a gang of teenagers there one day and one of them was like 'hey girl c'mere' and my brain was torn between 'oh, so this is how it ends; goodbye, cruel world' and 'pls dude, you're 13 and I could probably take you in a fight'

I swear at times when I walk past these tough pre-teens, I don't even know which is more awkward, avoiding eye contact or making continuous eye contact and trying to make a humble/sympathetic/innocent/dont-hurt-me-bro-please face....

Like you can honestly feel their eyes preying you, like a lion stalking that deer, these guys stare at you with such glinting eyes, and you feel their heads rotate, their bodies still, as you walk past...

This is honestly such an interesting topic, specially if you've witnessed such a situation, like what are you meant to do...
