On the other hand I went office works today and bought a lot of stationery... not sure why I was so excited tbh I think i've hit a low point, buying pens and lead should not be that interesting. But I was still excited.

halp

I completely get that - buying stationery and school supplies is one of my favourite things in the world. I probably put more thought into what folders, tabs, pens, etc. I'll buy, than I do my actual school work.

hehhee #nomethodslyf

it's bloody brilliant. That subject was a total tool Honestly not sure who woke up and was like "you know what, let's introduce a mathematical subject named methods where it separates the state not on mathematical talent but rather their ability to ensure they are not tricked by our convoluted wording"
So glad I did it in year 11 I would not have the capacity to deal with that bs in year 12...

I derive more happiness than I should watching current Methods and Spec kids suffer through these subjects.

Seconded.
Whenever someone complains about spesh im like "well you shoulda done further. 1/10th the effort and the same result." - they never learn

Good on you.

I thought I enjoyed methods and spec when I was doing it too. But looking back, I think that was just me conditioning myself to think I loved it. I spent so much time doing math that it was a running joke amongst Year 11's and Year 12's that I was "married to math". -.-

Nah.

Spec > Further

So much more fun. And it makes waaay more sense than further stuff.

A friend and I thought it'd be sooooooo cool to sit through a week of Year 12 Further during Headstart at the end of last year during our free periods. Coming from two kids who liked math (or thought they did) and did okay in spec and methods, we thought further would be like hanging out with the fun cousin of spec and methods. Let's just say we couldn't get out of that class soon enough.

Yup I second that! Methods and spec are two of my favourite subjects! Even though spec can be challenging.. the satisfaction after you get a long and tedious question right is amazing  ;D But yeah, I wish I could have done methods 3/4 last year (school didn't offer it :P)

Yeah ikr, Spec can be challenging at times but it's so enjoyable!

I also wish i could have done methods 3/4 last year alongside further maths, but i still think i would have done spec this year even if i did. It's awesome.

Atleast you agree with me Eliza  ;D

Lol my spec class only has 4 people in it, but even then I love the subject :D especially those funky graphs haha (idk what they're even called lol)

i think i've reached the lowest point in year 12 atm :(
had a recent sacs and i really wanted to full mark or get as possible to 100% and have barely made it to the 90's
i feel like giving up but i have sacs piled up , lots of hw, and mid year exams plus the GAT to look forward too.. R.I.P dreams :( -.-
was hoping for a moderately high 90's score but dunno if i'll even reach 70 tbh
Hope everyone else is doing well :)

I'm actually really excited for the gat and midyears.

Not only because we get the entire gat week off (time to chill and revise) but because the GAT is the best. It's the one time I can actually just enjoy the thrill of sitting a test without having to stress about how it could affect my ATAR, my life post-VCE and all my dreams.

We have midyears for every subject which will be fun at my school (nice little insight to how well I can potentially do). The only problem is that my Legal class will be sitting our midyear over the holidays so guess who had to go and cancel her holiday plans for Sydney because failing to attend is a big no no?

The GAT is actually used as one of a few factors that contributes to the 'derived exam score' in the event that you need to apply for special consideration. You may not think you will need it now, but alot of things can happen between now and exam day.

I think to best safeguard yourself and achieve the best possible study score (regardless of any unavoidable circumstances that may occur later on in the year), it is best to take the GAT seriously and attempt it as you would any other test.
