I feel ya. But right now I'm at the stage where my most common mood is apathy...
Thankfully my school doesn't make us do mid years...it's just the year 9s, 10s and 11s that have to do them. Sucks for them lol.
But in a way, I have that many SACs at the moment it feels like exams haha

Does anyone here do Biology...and if so what topic are you guys on at the moment?
i know- im putting in the work but i always feel its not enough! oh well, just try my best i guess
wish i didnt have mid years, taking up my time so unnecessarily -.-

Just finished chapter 9 of the heinemann bio textbook, so all of unit 3 done atm! (covered immunity just about perfectly, last thing we looked at i think was like clonal selection and blood types etc.) unit 4 should start for us in about a week or so (after exams)
wbu?

Try not to focus too much on mid years and focus more on SACS. Life is stressful with SACS :'(. In the end SACS will matter more than mid year exams from your school.

2016 - English, Methods, Specialist, Physics, Chemistry.

some mid years are being used as sacs :( like the english text response is our text based sac in the mid year
oh well- year 12 is like half way done!!!! Haven't died *completely* yet, coping better than i thought :DDDD

Ah, so we're not too far behind...we're starting the immune system right now, having just done diseases, etc.
I feel as though we do hardly anything, then in like the week before a SAC, our teacher actually introduces stuff that we need to know...
I swear we don't actually do anything in class, I've been pretty much teaching myself the course.
What annoys me the most is our teacher will break us up into groups to research something, then we have to present that to the class, and it takes ages, and we never actually learn it, then our teacher will spend the next few lessons teaching that stuff...it wastes so much time.

Plus it takes forever to get through concepts...we covered Biomolecules in Chem 2 weeks ago in one or two periods and our teacher gave us better and more comprehensive info than what we got in a week or more of my Bio teacher going over Biomolecules earlier in the year. We seem to go off on tangents so much, and do so much irrelevant stuff. It's super frustrating

On a side note - we use Nelson Biology for our textbook, and honestly I don't think its possible to come across a worse textbook! What a snorefest.

woahh K888 that's so me rn. Legit my english teacher has giving me 3 lines of feedbak saying 'effective, but could be better' and yeah cant really improve when i get so little feedback xD thank god for AN english submissions boards

i dont really like Nelson- i just use Heinemann and sometimes Nature of Biol- but mostly just youtube vids and then i make a 1 page 'cheat sheet' like thingo for revision :D
In chem, we've just started chap 12/13 of Heinemann Chem and apparently we are so behind (i think its like biomolecules and then DNA and medicine in those chapters) xD My teachers are generally good but very very vague in terms of helping their students !

p.s anyone really struggling w/ a subject? Rn i think im doomed for english (<40 probs <35) atm but imma try improve asap- but damn my teacher is very very grouchy and then theres the other teachers in our eng department who are crazy good- like years ago they had two 48's, 1 45 and a 44 in a class of 10 people from a very very average public school, wish i had themmm!!

We use Nelson for physics - it's legit aids.
Like I physically cannot self teach my self the course from that book. It's atrocious.
I would have to spend 5 hours learning 30 mins of content from my teacher - makes it hard to work ahead.
Thankfully physics isn't a subject where working ahead gives u any advantage (besides maybe for exam - having more practice always helps)

Heinemann is life.

Using it for chemistry and physics and it's amazing.

Don't particularly appreciate their tendency to wander off the study design (especially for physics) and some of the stupid questions they have in there that's so far out of the study design I question sometimes if they've even recently read the thing but overall A+ explanations.

anyone else having mood swings? i go from happy to sad every 10 minutes nowadays lmao!

Yes!!! Started today all pumped and cheery. Ended today feeling depressed and anxious and downright horrible. Generally a really upbeat and chatty and approachable person. I swear, by the end of today, conversations with me involved people talking and me making noncommital "uh huh's" and "that's nice" and "hmmmm". By the time I reached my final class of the day (chem, usually my fave), I wasn't even talking anymore cuz I wasn't in the mood to. VCE is giving me mood swings...

Is anyone worried that the year is ending too quickly?
Like I'm conflicted, I wan't to be out of year 12 but I like living in this state where my dreams haven't been crushed yet. I have faith in my abilities but I can't help this anxiety that comes - I'd rather live in the now not knowing my fate than having experienced what's to come.

+ umat is aids
Nelson and Umat is aids.

Mood swings? I've probably decreased my tolerance significantly. Like sometimes I just cbf now when before I could properly engage in the convo/activity or w/e.

It's like VCE is slowly draining out some parts of my life. Eh - but can't complain yet things havent completely crumbled for me... yet.

Yeah it is ending too quickly.

Awesome to think this year will end soon, but what's haunting me are the exams are approaching so quickly as well :( and when i look at some of the content i have to cover it's scary

exams are too quickkk , but at the same time i want to get out of year 12 asap - so conflicted :(
tbh i donnot believe i have reached the highest point in terms of academic abilities in year 12- which is a shame, if i worked like i did in year 10 it'd be amazing, but having to work+ study for 5 subjects and just having so much work to do and some personal issues i reckon is really stopping me from achieving the best i can (if i did year 12 in my year 10 mindset, id be much better)
generally apathetic about studies which is really bad- but oh well. :p

pwoah if I approached year 12 like I did in year 10 I'd probably be failing substantially - but my gaming skills would be on fleek so idk what i've missed out on tbh
