Just finished chapter 9 of the heinemann bio textbook, so all of unit 3 done atm! (covered immunity just about perfectly, last thing we looked at i think was like clonal selection and blood types etc.) unit 4 should start for us in about a week or so (after exams)
wbu?
Ah, so we're not too far behind...we're starting the immune system right now, having just done diseases, etc.
I feel as though we do hardly anything, then in like the week before a SAC, our teacher actually introduces stuff that we need to know...
I swear we don't actually do anything in class, I've been pretty much teaching myself the course.
What annoys me the most is our teacher will break us up into groups to research something, then we have to present that to the class, and it takes ages, and we never actually learn it, then our teacher will spend the next few lessons teaching that stuff...it wastes so much time.
Plus it takes forever to get through concepts...we covered Biomolecules in Chem 2 weeks ago in one or two periods and our teacher gave us better and more comprehensive info than what we got in a week or more of my Bio teacher going over Biomolecules earlier in the year. We seem to go off on tangents so much, and do so much irrelevant stuff. It's super frustrating
On a side note - we use Nelson Biology for our textbook, and honestly I don't think its possible to come across a worse textbook! What a snorefest.
