Is it weird to say that that is what motivates me ever harder? Im given the means to succeed, it motivates me to strive for it.
I can learn the way i like to learn which is good haha. I sit in lectures and just listen. Its so relaxing!!. I grab a coffee or a lovely sprite and just listen, its the best.
The first semester ideally is one of revision, if you're studying an area you did in VCE. Universities need to start from the beginning in each discipline, to ensure that everyone has the same opportunity to succeed (since you have mature age students, international students, domestic etc. coming into the same degree).
When you start learning brand new content that perhaps you've never seen before - then that's the challenge. I saw it all too much how 1st year students let their guard down (I'm not saying you're like that, you're probably a very smart individual who keeps up to date), but i'm outlining generally what happens to alot of people (from a tutor perspective).
Happy to provide or outline anything from a 'uni teacher' (tutor) perspective, feel free to send me a PM (courtesy extended to everyone).
At least with school you had someone monitoring your progress and telling you to keep up or give you reminders. My point is that this rarely happens at uni. Being in a discipline that you really enjoy and are excited about helps too - remember that you've got to survive uni for at least 3 years (regardless of whether you chop/change/transfer)

I'm glad you have that view and the fact that it motivates you to succeed - because for alot of people, its quite the opposite
