how do you stop being an introvert?
like I have soo many people come up to me and ask me why I don't say anything. And say I'm like the 'observer'
This isn't a bad thing, and they don't say it in a bad way...it's just weird that in a group conversation I have literally nothing to say
and it's not cos I'm shy (i know I'm not), I just don't know what to possibly say. like nothing massively interesting happens in my life: I sleep, eat, study, study, study, go on AN, do more study then sleep again. So it's not like I have things to talk about
I'd really love to hear any thoughts
brah just spent 10 mins writing a response and net cuts out and its not posted fml.
ill respond as discussion unravels... but basically: be as natural as possible coz ppl can tell when you're not.
Understand your audience - cant speak to your teacher the way you speak to your friends (if you do it's either you have a super cool teacher or super weird friends)
-- There's also general topics/ideas that will resonate with a particular audience. You gotta understand different character types and what their likely response would be. I.E talking about the liberal party with 90% of students will cause a specific reaction

.
This extends to a lot of stuff, talking shit about school is pre much a universal student topic.
Umat is the next topic (hehe) - any aspiring med students you could easily keep a conversation going about umat for hours.
- Understand what works for you (what your character type is) - dont try be someone you're not
- in a discussion, try be critical about what you hear (this goes under general advice: be critical about everything you hear/read) - it'll lead to an interesting discussion I guess.
Do you have any specific scenarios you wanna flesh out? Coz there are a multitude of ways to tackle different aspects of this

.
Last point: it's ok to say nothing if there's nothing to say. - but sometimes you need to keep a conversation going with someone who simply needs a conversation so it's an essential trait to have. Practice makes perfect - making a fool outta myself countless times have led me to become more extroverted
