Monash Open Day 2014!

Personally when I was in VCE, I found it really helpful to come down and explore my options, talking to current lecturers and current students from a variety of courses (loljks I'm Indian so my choices were Med, Law or Eng...) and get a feel of uni life. I'd highly recommend that you go, even if Monash isn't your first pref (you should seriously reconsider your life up to this point if it isn't #monashmasterrace) or you just want to rake up some quality freebies

Definitely worth a visit, and there are usually some friendly AN faces around too! I've been involved in the Med area for the past two years and have met many younger AN-ers during that time (I'll be involved in FRACP exams this Sunday, so won't be making an appearance, sorry eeps).

So come on down!

To those coming on Open Day, have questions to ask! Reading brochures and information online is vastly different from asking and talking to current students at Monash, who can give you a more realistic and specific insight into what it's like to study a particular degree or course. Don't be afraid to ask questions, no matter how stupid or silly you think it may be (something I've learnt from when I attended past open days).

Currently in my third year (same as pi), and the biggest piece of advice I'd give is to really make the most of the day. Beyond the events and freebies on the day, talk to current students - ask what they study, what a typical week involves for him/her, contact hours and so forth. For those thinking of going to the Caulfield campus, drop by the BusEco faculty which is situated in the H building (contains different departments) and hear about the various courses on offer as well as perspectives from current students on panels. We'll be wearing "Monash University - Business and Economics" shirts, so it won't be hard to find us. Hope to see some of you there.

I'll be involved in FRACP exams this Sunday, so won't be making an appearance, sorry eeps).

^Same thing as eeps. I'm helping out in BusEco Faculty, but in Clayton Campus. I can't believe we're all in 3rd year now. You can spot me really easily, I'm probably going to be the only ambassador there wearing both a Monash Open Day hoodie and the BusEco T - shirt.

If you are looking for some Accounting, Finance or Economics major advice, come to me. If you are depressed, happy, oppressed by asian parents wanting to make you study medicine / law / eng / accounting (JOKING), in a 'should I break up with my gf / bf to study harder in year 12' situation, also come to me for advice.

If you are looking for some advice about future uni fees, seek Student Services because we can't really talk about it. None of the proposed fee changes have been finalised because legislation hasn't been passed yet.

I will be helping out the MNHS faculty, talking to students about my experiences in psych. But few days ago had a sore throat, and today woke up with 1/2 my voice gone LOL Hopefully will be recovered b4 tmr haha :S

Peninsula Campus had a lot of free mentos last year in its physio and OT labs. Ate so many I didn't feel like lunch.

Ambassadors will be handing out goodie bags outside the law library (right entrance from the bus loop) and outside Robert Blackwood Hall. Still, you can find plenty of good things in faculty areas, as Pi said. If you go by engineering, see if you can find me - I'll be the small non-Asian.

how do people who live far away from the uni usually travel? i live on the other side of town from monash and i was wondering the best way to get there tomorrow for open day (and for when uni starts i guess)
