i am also interested in this course! Just wondering if anyone knows or can predict if or by how much the atar for this double will increase due to the 50 guaranteed spots for post grad med? thanks

It's impossible to know for sure (though presumably VTAC or the university has some idea), but I'd imagine it's pretty safe to say all biomed single and double degrees will go up in terms of minimum stated ATAR. However, given that the changes to the biomed --> med pathway only are implemented from 2017, I don't think that the requirements will change dramatically until then.

99.95 is the safest possible ATAR for you to get in - although, the clearly-in will probably be like, 96 at the highest. I doubt the guaranteed 50 places will affect a double-degree at all, actually, but that's just my opinion vs. what will actually happen.

Yeah you're doomed without a 99.95

I don't think the ATAR cut-off is going to increase exponentially imo. I am in the first cohort with the 50 spots for Post-grad Med and I am pretty sure the ATAR for my double and straight Biomed was 92.7. Although, it may jump, but I'm just speculating.
