importance of Units 1 & 2

I haven't been doing that good this year, my maths teacher sucks at covering topics and I sometimes end up clueless.
I've been getting test scores of around 40-50% this year, should I be worried about Units 3 & 4?
I was planning on just redoing the whole chapters later on this year just before I begin yr 12.
What do you guys suggest that I do?

Yeah, I think the best thing you can do is first get a firm understanding of 1/2, and then reattempt some of the questions.

I say this because 1/2 is quite indicative of 3/4, as you're only extending the content in 3/4.

It's a shame that you aren't able to understand your teacher. Perhaps watching Youtube videos (e.g. patrickjmt) is a good place to start. You can also consider getting a tutor, especially if you need someone to properly explain the concepts.

All the best :)

I appreciate the help you have given me, thank you very much.
Looks like I'll have to consider trying to correct all my bad test scores into good ones, thankfully its only year 11.

From what my teachers say, MM 1/2 are super important as it is the basis of 3/4. Friends at school tell me that 3/4 is really just an extension of ideas in 1/2, but obviously more challenging. So aim to do the best you can this year and make up for your marks over the holidays or whatever.
