I have a SAC tomorrow morning (last legal SAC) and one of the questions in the practice SAC confuses me a lot.

If anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated!

1. a) Describe two problems (e.g. high costs & delays) that an individual may face when taking a civil dispute to court. (4m)
    b) For each problem suggested in part (c) of this question, explain two changes that has or could help to overcome the problem and enhance the effective operation of the legal system. (4m)

I know I'm a month late but anyways you're meant to mention the trouble people face when undertaking civil action and this may include delays because it's a very lengthy process and requires both the defendant and plaintiff to be there, which means the timetable has to be set efficiently to suit both parties which is generally difficult! Also the defendant might take a while to file a notice of appearance and statement of defence which adds even more to the delays.

Because it's out of 4 marks your should also mention something else:

High costs- due to some parties needing legal representation it made add significant pressure on them due to having to pay for both the court fees and legal representation. Many times individuals prevent themselves from undertaking civil action because they know it's very costly .
