I was considering doing maths methods next year, but I probably won't because I'm thinking of learning a 3rd language instead.

Wait? If by three languages - you mean one of french or japanese, and one in co curricular, and one in VCE for next year - correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can only do one? :)

Other then that, what do we bring at the readiness test? Is it just stationery? oh, and the evidence?

Remember the third language won't be considered in your primary four scores for your ATAR, as it is only possible to include two even though you may have received a better score.

I don't think you are able to learn both French and Japanese at JMSS, but it is possible to learn languages outside of school that can contribute to your ATAR score

lol, re-read my comment "one of french or japanese". Yeah, i'm pretty sure you can only do up to two languages. Not too sure though.

I considered your VCE statement to be one of the two languages being learnt at school, but I just realised I don't think JMSS will allow year 10s to learn a LOTE VCE subject. Sorry for a misunderstanding.

Page 42 in your year 10 orientation handbook states the rules of what can and can not be included in your primary four.

Do you reckon I could get my results back even through I rejected the offer? :P

Super curious.

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant by doing 3 languages (English as one of them, durr), is that I'll be doing French at JMSS and then another language (German - which I already know quite well) out of school. I'm just not doing the VCE maths because I don't want to have too great of a workload :)

Sorry for any confusion... it's a little bit complicated :P

You're not forgiven, jokes, it's alright. Including english, learning three languages is pretty great. I currently learn mandarin and it's hella difficult. Are you currently doing German as a VCE subject?

Yes I reckon you can...If they hassle you too much maybe try saying you live too far away from the school so you rejected it?

Learning languages is reaaally good!! Like it's so beneficial literally you can just go anywhere and be able to communicate!! However don't learn 4 languages ...it's a pain and I ended up forgetting everything...But yeah I reckon 3 is good as long as you put in the effort damn languages are gonna be hard in VCE though so keep that in mind too!
Picking up mandarin is the worst decision ever made!!! Too much effort to do well in...

Haven't really introduced myself, but I'm a student that got into JMSS.
I want to do Quarks and Quasars and from cells to systems. Not sure though.

I wanted to do cells to systems and bioinformatic. I also wanted to do the analytical and spectroscopic science and vce unit 2 physics. But it was a really hard choice so I just chose cells to systems and bioinformatic

same!! cells to systems and bioinformatics. but i also want to do logic to magic - quarks to quasars is also interesting. But, correct me if I'm wrong, with cells to systems, im pretty sure they do some collaboration thing with bioinformatic students for some research task.

ahhh, all the emerging science subjects are interesting.

I'll proabably do bioinformatics and cells to systems. I really wanna do Pharmaceutical Science, Marine Biology and Quarks to quasars too :( It sucks how we can only do 2! Btw, which laptops are you guys planning to get? I really want the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro but its do damn expensive. Its good because it is convertible so I can use it as a computer and to look through my textbooks in!

Planning to use my current school computer (macbook pro) which I can hopefully keep at the end of the 3 year lease. I plan on getting an iPad for my secondary device.

Boxing day sale?

I didn't consider the boxing day sale, but that's probably a good time to buy a laptop. Thanks :)
