I hear that monash wants it students to have a diverse learning history and that if you do a humanity you have more chance of getting interviewed in med. Of course you need to take a few sciences but overall you need to demonstrate you are more then a science student. Is this true?

They won't even know what subjects you do apart from the pre-reqs,  so no it won't affect your chances at all.

In interview offwrs they only care about your ATAR and UMAT
2012 ATAR: 99.20
2013-2015: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Microbiology/Immunology: Infections and Immunity) at The University of Melbourne
2016-2019: Doctor of Medicine (MD4) at The University of Melbourne

Hello ValiantIntellectual,

From what I've heard from a former student, within the interview they're more likely to be interested in your life outside pre-req subjects. This might include humanities subjects but also extra-curricular and community involvement, like sports, membership of clubs, school/house leadership, debating, involvement in charities, that kind of thing.
