CAS calculator playing up
« on: September 21, 2014, 12:29:05 pm »

Hi guys,

My cas calculator is being really weird. It keeps typing 'wqke' when I'm not doing anything and keeps trying to change the language to Spanish.  :'(
This is the first time it's happened. It did it this morning and then stopped and it started again just before.
I've tried resetting it using the button on the back but it didn't help.

Has anyone had this problem and/or have any ideas on how to fix it?

You could reinstall the operating system using the Ti-nspire program?

Try unscrewing the back and removing the battery for a couple of minutes, if you have the one with the rechargeable battery.

Thanks for the help guys.
I reinstalled the OS and it's alright at the moment but it still does it occasionally. :/

I have the new black one... I don't know whether I can take the batteries out.

You can still take out the battery, theres a bit of wire connected to the battery that connects it to the cas, you have to pull out the wire. Just make sure you don't break the wire though!

What version of the OS do you have (should have 3.9).
And the battery can be taken out since it's just connected to the battery with some wire (it's like one of those clicky things [I got my Woodworks teacher to do it for me one time LOL]) but I don't think that'll actually help...

3.9. :)
Lol. Yeah, probably not.
It's okay at the moment. I'll use it a bit tomorrow and see if it starts doing it again, maybe I'll try taking out the battery if it does.

Haha good to see you using 3.9 (most of my friends are still stuck on 3.2 LOL ;) )
But yeah just see how it goes tonight and take out the battery tomorrow I guess though your CAS problem seems fine compared to my one (battery goes from 75% to Critical before going back to 75% after restarting it :S)
