Has anyone found a particular exam quite difficult and challenging? Can be past VCAA or company based thanks.

i personally found the 2011 unit 3 exam difficult and challenging.
Hope this helps?

Literally just did this today.

Got 63/75, and I tried to mark harshly but I can never know if I'm being too lenient. Completely misinterpreted 5 marks worth of questions - very annoying. The A+ cutoff for this exam was only 80%, so as you said many students found it difficult.

Also, has anyone done the QATS 2014?

I haven't finished it, but some of the multiple choice questions in the 2012 NEAP unit 4 exam are difficult (in my opinion)  :)

Anyone done the NEAP 2014? :)

How's everyone scoring in their exams at this point? Should I be worried if my scores aren't top notch?

Yep :)

How'd you go on that (if you don't mind me asking  :P) I got 88%  :)

No, don't worry! There's still an ample amount of time to improve :)
I've been scoring around the A-A+ mark.

My school used it as a trial so I've yet to find out :p

Just a tip regarding practice exams (worked for me last year):

The best prep for Section B you can get is doing VCAA exams - these are the most accurate reflection of the content you need to know and the marking schemes represent the most favourable ways of answering questions (remember that exam technique is just as important as having the knowledge when it comes to VCE Bio).

By all means use external companies' papers for practice but don't give toooooo much weight to the specifics of the marking schemes as they aren't official; if your expression is not significantly off and you know what's up then you are doing fine. What you want to do is to tailor your answering technique to VCAA past exams. The examiner's reports are gold for this; be especially harsh on yourself when marking a VCAA past paper.

Good luck!

Copped a 50

Really it's just a two-step process:
1. Know your stuff back to front --> study the textbook/concepts/notes/whatever
2. Be able to convey that you know your stuff in the way that they want you to do so --> hello practice exams

i've done 7 practice exams, hopefully my marks will increase over time (they will right).
thanks for the tips rice hahaha

Thats what i tell myself as well;
1. know the content inside out,
2. be able to apply it to stuff
3. exam technique.

Thanks again :)
