I'm predicting that they'll have something on the role of the ghosts, for A Christmas Carol.

The prompts are usually similar but different each year, they will use the same ideas but different prompt. I predict that there will be something to do with lessons.
Also the main ideas for identity and belonging are: nature v nurture, choosing not to belong and the cost of belonging, challenging and developing ones identity, and defining yourself through others. You should know how each of these are reflected in the studied texts

Just remember guys, not everyone in the state are gods at English so don't go tackling super obscure topics like minor characters because there is seriously no chance it will come up on the exam. The exam has to be accessible for everyone, not just those good at english and the people who make the exam keep that in mind.

Yep, had a lecturer say that they want to make prompts so that even people who haven't study the texts all year can have a go/attempt it.

But the idea of A Christmas Carol being intended to educate the audience has already been explored twice. Maybe something along characterisation such as the role of the spirits would be a probable.

From your mouth to the ears of VCAA (even though VCAA's already written the exam). But you're definitely right. VCAA asked a question about Dickens' lessons for both his redoubtable protagonist, Scrooge, and the wider society of his time. A question on the role of the ghosts seems probable given that they haven't really asked anything about it.

but if they've asked it twice (about the lessons), then why can't they ask it again?

And thanks everyone for the help :)

I'm betting that there will be a question about Scrooge's transformation. There surprisingly hasn't been a prompt concerning that yet! Fingers crossed anyway  :)

Maybe something alone the lines of "Scrooge's transformation is motivated by more than just greed"
