Someone suggested I add course names (rather than just ID numbers) to the offers combubulator, so that's now done. If anyone is interested: http://aidans.org/offers/

I've updated it once again - now you can specify your postcode and see the people closest to you who got offers for a certain degree. Might help with who to befriend on enrolment/orientation day, rather than someone 300km away! ;D

34001 - Professional Software Development at Swinburne :)

If anyone is interested, you can see the other people offered places for a particular course here: http://aidans.org/offers/
I think it's broken, it doesn't list me there for 34001 (whereas I was listed on the Herald Sun site)
Edit: Script is broken for people with spaces in their last name, and interprets their post code as their course code. Put "3056" into the box, for instance. :P

Thanks, I've fixed that now!

Ninox: I'll be doing the same course as you! What streams are you doing?

excellent! I'm deciding between chemical and materials streams. For now I'm leaning towards chemical, and I'm not sure what to major in for the science component. Probably chemistry  :D
By the way, I remember coming across a course outline of sci/eng that went into detail about the various streams, but it also went even further, for the chemicals stream only, into what sort of "sub-streams" were available, like chemical nanotech or something like that.
does anyone know the link?

congrats to everyone on their course offers!

Probably going with Monash though, more practical - 2 hours by public transport vs 10 minute car ride  ;D

heheh, for me monash is a 20min bus ride with traffic, but UoM is like 1.5 - 2hrs car AND public transport

Vice Chancellor's Scholarship - IT/Science at Swinburne :D
So the actual course I'll be doing is the Bachelor of Science (Professional Software Development). It shall be good. :)

Ninox: http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/handbooks/courses/0085.html - I think that's the website you're looking for! I'll be doing majoring in Electrical for the Engineering component and CompSci and Mathematics for the Science component. I'll respond to your other points in the other thread (which I just noticed) to avoid confusion!

randomnezz: That's absolutely possible! I've added the functionality now, but it's not quite visible yet. I'll overhaul the look of the site first though, because displaying so much data in plain text is getting unwieldy.

aidan, that's not quite the one I was talking about. I was looking for it before and I found the one you just linked me too. the one I'm after is similar to that, but has even more information. it was a while ago though, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. lol  ::)

Question here...

enrollment is on the 25th (for me) but we find out 2nd round offers on the 31st...

seems a little strange... say you get a 2nd round offer do you then have to cancel your enrollment?

maxleng: Yup. In my Monash handbook it says that if you have accepted an offer, you need to fill out a form to withdraw your acceptance when you accept a second offer. Fairly easy by the sounds of it!
