use of pens

Not sure if this is the appropriate board/place for my query, but is it recommended that I start doing trial papers/practice exams in pen to 'train' myself to feel comfortable with using pen in the actual VCAA Methods Exam (or any math/sci exam for the matter)? I've been accustomed to use pencil because I tend to try different methods (for the hard questions especially) and then erase if the method doesn't work... I can't do that with pen and I'm worried that my paper will look extremely messy with hard to follow working because I ran out of space or something... :/

TLDR; any advice on how to get comfortable with using pen in maths.

thanks in advance :)

I'm fairly sure I've heard that you can use pencil as long as it's dark enough. I hate using pencils so I'm used to using pens, I just try and keep my working neat, and cross it out if I ever have to start again. If you're more comfortable with pencil I'd probably just stick to that.

You don't need to use a pen for methods. If you go to last years paper or the cover sheets for this years paper in the instructions box there is no instruction that says you have to use pen. So since you've been using pencil so far stick with what you're doing. :)
