I think both methods are fine, and it is really a non-argument. My personal bias would just be that limitations would be unnecessary in that particular case study, but the 'legalities' if you like, favour both approaches.

I think the 8/10, 9/10, 10/10 marks would come more from conveying the content rather than a task word. If it was something like 'compare and contrast' the different methods, than that would be a different matter...

My teacher marked the exam last year and the 10 mark question was a 'discuss' as well, and even though it was hard to, you couldn't get 10/10 if you didn't show limitations/disadvantages

Same here!  I went to lecture with a senior examiner and she said that whenever you see 'roles' always talk about POLC! My teacher told us to frame questions like that around POLC

what did people right for the management style?? there was so little to go off, but i went with autocratic!!
and what did people talk about in regards to that question about planning and the mission statement?
I went with autocratic too  :-\
I doubt it's autocratic though, it said something about how he expects that employees should know what work they're meant to complete. however productivity still drops  so perhaps he was implementing autocratic himself but that wasn't working so we had to suggest something else? I dunno

But I also found the mission statement and planning question kind of awkward! I mean if she's CEO then her strategic planning should also be based on the vision statement as well, where as tactical/frontline planning should be more focused on mission statement right? Idk  :o

lmfao ^  ;D so true!!!

What did you guys write about ethical and social responsibility in the hrm function if you don't mind me asking :)

Cheers :)
what was the question again? I think I said something to do with not discriminating during recruitment and ensuring that their judgements are free from bias when resolving conflicts between employee/employer

I went with autocratic too, given the urgency of the situation. "Needed to act swiftly or else risk losing market share." As long as you justify, any style should be accepted.

Guys I had benefits/limitations for the just in time strategy (missing out on quantity discounts, suppliers must be reliable etc). But surely there's no disadvantages from implementing quality strategies...

Also, I understood "the future staffing needs" part of the question as fulfilling the needs of the staff in the future. I started talking about employment arrangements and flexible working conditions (which is also part of the establishment phase), to allow staff to balance their work and family responsibilities . This is completely incorrect, right? Stupid me, didn't realise it meant the staff needed in the future. Thought it meant the needs of the staff in the future.
