I'm a first year Science kid and I'm currently struggling to decide what to do second/third year. Initially I wanted to go on the Medicinal Chemistry pathway, but I found it to be extremely limiting and loaded with subjects that prevented me from creating a back up I liked. I talked to my mate, and he's decided to get into try and get into Medicine, and since the subjects are pretty broad he has a few alternate majors he can take if he doesn't get in. Having a backup is something I want, and I'm not completely turned off doing medicine, so I thought I'd give it a try.
However ... well, my marks aren't that stellar. My first semester average was actually an okay 72, but I slacked off second semester and was met with a few problems that brought down my year average to a 67.5 (long story short, failed Linear Algebra).
How likely am I to get into ANAT20006 in either first or second semester? I'm taking Chemistry 2 this summer holiday and I'm determined to get a ridiculously high score to make up for me slacking off. I noticed, though, that first round offers come out before the summer course ends, so I guess they can't look at my score for it. Is it true that it's easier to get into Semester 2? If I do well in next year's semester 1, do they consider those scores for second semester anatomy?
Thanks for anyone who can help out! I intend to go ask the SSC on Monday (I went today, but 5 hours ago I wanted to do Chemistry) to ask them a few questions, but I was hoping someone here could give me an idea of what my options are.
