If you achieve an atar above the clearly in of a course (assuming it remains the same and have met all pre-reqs), does it mean that you are guaranteed a position in the course?

Clearly-ins change from year to year though, got to be vigilant of that.

Assuming the number of places don't change, yes. Also assuming they don't change the ranking methods (bonus points for subjects, etc).

Usually, number of places/ranking methods don't change often. ATAR requirements usually dont experience huge swings (it does happen though, in my year melbourne science swung by 5). I think you should be rather safe in getting in.

just worried because i forgot that change of prefs closed yesterday and i was planning to put some more courses further below my atar just in case but didnt get a chance to. now the lowest atar req. preference is only 2 atar points below mine, however i do have subject bonuses (8 agg) + SEAS. so hopefully i get into it if i dont get into my higher preferences.

Anyone know if say, your first few preference's atars are higher by a few marks but you have seas and subject bonus that will get you over the clearly in, will i receive a round 1 offer?
