So if I have 5 subjects, how many of those subjects should I study in a day which would be most efficient? eg. 1 subject a day, 2 subjects a day etc.

Lumierys, this is dependent on you and your subjects. Depending on what you think you should do and what you usually do (not like that'll change any time fast), that number can vary quite a bit. It can also depend on what you want to achieve (not everyone's a 99.00+ or 90.00+ wannabe) and what your skills set is like.

e.g. I usually studied somewhere between 2-5 subjects in Year 12, depending on:
  • how much homework I got for my subjects.
  • what was due sooner.
  • how much I thought I needed to study for a subject. i.e. Further was "easier" for me, so I would try more Chem and LOTE, the subjects I wasn't as great at.
  • how long I guessed each one was going to take + 30 mins, since I'm a bad guesser.
and many, many other variables. Inevitably, you'll figure out your own patterns and go with the flow.

Reminder to take a good break every now and then. Studying for tonnes of hours without a break just equals to a cranky person.
VCE: Psych | Eng Lang | LOTE | Methods | Further | Chem

I always just studied the subjects I had on that particular day. e.g. on Tuesdays I would have a triple period on chemistry and single periods of literature and biology. So on Tuesdays I would study only those subjects. Its better to reinforce knowledge you learnt right away imo.
I normally just left assignments for the weekends, which was a lot of time considering I didn't have a part-time job.
In terms of concentrating on the harder subjects rather than the easier subjects...never did that.
Even though further was the easiest for me I still weighed it as equal as the harder subjects like chemistry. The fact that it was easier just meant that it took less time to finish the homework and a bit extra, which ultimately would lead to more time for the other subject I had that day.

Anyways that was the way I studied in yr 12, good luck :)
