Hey!

Could someone please enlighten me on the best units/requirements that I need to take in order to be best prepared for a chance at post grad medicine?

I know you need to take a minimum of 5 of the following units must be completed within the Bachelor of Science degree to be eligible for Graduate Entry MBBS: BCH2022: Metabolic basis of human diseases, DEV2011: Early human development from cells to tissues, DEV2022: Principles of organ and body design, MIC2022: Microbes of health and disease, IMM2011: Basic immunology: The body’s defence system, IMM2022: Immunology in health and disease, PHY2042: Body systems physiology, PHY2011: Neuroscience of sensory and control systems in the body, PHY2032: Endocrine control systems, PHA2022: Drugs and society in your second or third year.

However today, the speakers mentioned that some units in year 1 restrict you from doing as such listed above for future years. Thank you!!

Honestly, GAMSAT preparation varies between student-to-student. You're best bet is to take the necessary units in order to be eligible for the postgraduate MBBS. Other than that, first year wise, Chemistry and Biology will be a big help. Year 12 Physics would help, but learning it shouldn't be too difficult. If anything I'd advise you to develop your critical thinking skills over these next years (presuming you'll keep the double you mentioned in a previous post). Don't forget how to write essays and be able to decompose arguments.

The GAMSAT may seem scary right now, but with goal-setting and persistent work, you'll be fine!

Also seeing the Faculty of Science students services is a really good idea to get the ball rolling.
