got my report back today. I did okay, although I'm not sure it meets to some of the standards there will be at the interview.
In each subject I got over 85 ...?
Only 1 above 95 which is super disappointing :(
I ended up getting the gold certificate (titanium, 1 up is the best) which I'm pretty happy with although my school does not have many high achievers in academic (sports based) so comparing to others trying out for jmss it would be an average ? :/

annoyed that I got told to participate in more class disscussions quite a few times when the area concerning doesn't allow much opportunity for any imput :// hopefully this doesn't let me down.

how did you guys go?

yea. i did okay. multiple As and A+s with a few B's here and there for PE and Chinese mainly. nothing yet from ICAS yet though so that was a disappoint. would sport be a major factor for the interview?

defintetly! any co-curriculum talents is one of the main reasons the interviews are being held :) sports, instruments/vocals, awards, leadership roles or anything else will be a huge boost, to offer the school.

okay sweet. just gotta hope my leadership roles and drama/debating co cirricular activites can compensate for my lack of sport talent. :-\

Does anyone know for the interview, do we have to have a award of some kind to prove your extra co-curriculum talents??? cus some things i did i don't have a award to prove it T^T T^T T^T plus, i changed to a very competitive and high standard school this year, and my report didn't go as well as i thought it would be.

Same for me. Group tasks require quite a bit of teamwork and I found that we did not complete any of them, the individual task involved simple problem solving, but it was hard to express your solution (5 mins for this I think) and then the one on one interview with someone who might turn out to be your teacher next year (happened for me), so make a good impression.

Its alright. I really didn't do that well in year 9 (which is the year which I needed the marks coincidentally) and my report reflected it. The exam had already bench marked you and if you received an interview, you would've already fulfilled the academic requirement. They want to see what else you have to offer (e.g music, language, sport etc) and observe your team and social skills (which are very important). Saying this, having some academic achievements helps a lot, not necessarily your report, but things like High Distinctions in the ICAS are very good.

post if you want any more qs answered,
Good luck

You don't necessarily need a proof I think but it's best if you have it, they still note it down anyway!

Srsly, dw, most people frum SCHS dont go to JMSS. Only 1 or 2 this year I think. Still cant believe u went to it lol, but it sounds gud from what you say. Come to JMSS though, cause it amazing.

ICAS helps, do u have any High Distinctions? NAPLAN too, if you went well in year 7. Your Saturday school too. I would also include any achievements that you happen to have, even from Primary school as everything helps.
