Handwritten vs. Typed Notes

Hey Guys,

I'm just about to start creating revisions for the work I've done thus far, but I cannot decide if handwriting really is more beneficial to me. I want to type it but it feels like thats the lazy option and I won't learn it as well. I've already heard all that stuff about muscle memory etc. Can anyone add on to this? And what has worked for you?

this is only speaking from me personally, as it may differ from what others think

I would say handwrite it, although it is more strenuous and takes a long time as well, the information is better processed into your brain and when you type you often don't think about what you're typing. after all, on the exam you'll be handwriting everything so better get used to lots of writing! :)

plus, in some subjects (e.g. maths) it's kinda hard to type equations and stuff in, or draw diagrams etc

so yeah, I would say handwrite them :)

It kind of depends how you're structuring your notes and how detailed they are. Personally, I never write notes (lol) but if they're slabs of information it's probably worthwhile typing them up, especially if you're going to be doing this for a good part of the year. It'll save valuable time.

However, if they're quick, shorthand notes with diagrams and the like (i.e. maths/science subjects) then handwriting them will obviously be advantageous.

Thanks for the input guys, it looks like most people prefer to handwrite notes and I'm kind of leaning that way as well. I understand that for maths subjects writing is the way to go due to the symbols etc. Just wanted to know if anyone actually has seen success with just typing.
