I would love to get into undergraduate medicine. However, I think it is just too competitive, and hard. Obviously it's going to be hard, but from what I have heard, it seems like a really tough opportunity to be granted.

I will obviously try to get into undergrad medicine, but my hopes are on Biomed at either monash or melb uni, they are probably more realistic for me right now. You?

I think there's ~3000 applicants slimmed down to 600 (based on ATAR & UMAT) where they all get the chance to be interviewed (MMI) and finally 250 (domestic) are granted a place in undergraduate MBBS.

Yeah it's competitive and hard, but it was also competitive and hard for those 250 who are currently undertaking the course in 2015.

I agree with you, same boat as you cosine, we just need to work hard towards it, even science at monash would be amazing, just gotta do the pre req for post grad med

You're better off doing BBmed/BSci at Monash since post 2017, graduate MBBS is offered to Monash students only (GAMSAT is also withdrawn) and also apply for MD. Whereas if you did BBmed/BSci at UoM you'll be able to apply for MD but not MBBS.

I'm fairly certain the GAMSAT being withdrawn is only for 2/3 of the places, and only for those doing a biomed degree.

Just plain old engineering for me! :)
Would love to do aeronaticual but the job prospects looks pretty crappy to be honest.
Dont really mind if i dont get high enough for monash (atar), because theres always RMIT. Monash is just closer to me and has the general first year which is nice.
Work hard and our dreams shall come true. Still scared that i wont get a high enough atar though :(

Trying to get into Commerce/Engineering, ATAR is relatively low (only 93 or something) compared to the super-high scores of Med/Law.

It's funny watching people at school fret about the UMAT while I can focus on year 12.

I actually enjoy doing umat practice, it's quite difficult, and a good way to challenge yourself, basically the gat, except harder
