JMSS for year 11 entry

Hey Guys,

I guess if there was anywhere to ask questions in regards to entrance exams this would be it. So, I am currently a year 10 and I am undertaking the year 11 entrance examination for JMSS for entrance into year 11. I was disappointed to be rejected last year so I want to make sure I get in this year. If you want to know what I achieved as scores I received superiors in maths, numerical reasoning and scientific reasoning, I received high averages (I believe that high average is the one below superior) in both the essays. Can you guys assist me in what i should study and such? It would be very much appreciated if anyone who gained entrance into John Monash for year 11 would tell me about their experiences.

I am also trying out for the year 11 jmss test, I did not do the exam last year.
I am not sure what all is going to be on that test?? and how to structure the science essay???
It would be great if someone could help us out!

Not sure where I didn't do well, my main areas i believe were the essays and the interview itself. Luckily this year there is only one science essay. And yes, I do believe that the school entrance is very competitive.

I am sorry to hear that you did not gain entrance to JMSS for year 10 this year. Those are excellent test results and should have got you a place so you either missed out because you failed the interview or you got cut off by the 4% rule. You should try and work out whether it is the interview or the 4% rule that was the culprit and go from there. You obviously have the academic ability since your test results are higher than mine and most of the year 10s currently at JMSS.

Hey ShikharDhawan, it's going pretty alright. I'm just reviewing stuff that I have learnt this year since I have exams at school now. Honestly not that worried about how hard the test is going to be. But i say that now....
