Language Analysis Noob

Hi,

I'm writing a practice language analysis on this article: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/dont-let-any-more-babies-die-because-of-anti-vaccination-lobby/story-fni0fhie-1227275475765

I haven't really done this before, and I'm having trouble identifying the overall contention and tone of the article. Would someone be able to assist me here?

Also, what is the technique called when the author writes "I couldn't agree more"?

I'd say the tone is really sympathetic at times, but otherwise highly forthright, aggressive

So O'Brien is contending that those who view vaccination as an unnatural activity are making deadly decisions as their children not becoming vaccinated leads to the death of other young children.

However she sort of has a broader contention that we should look at the holistic consequences before we make our actions.

You don't need to give this phrase a 'label', but it's effect is it makes it seem that the writer she was agreeing with is absolutely spot on, therefore more credibility etc.
