Guess I'm Monash or Deakin then. Tfw Deakin GPA is 6.88 but UoM is 6.58. If only I could swap them around.

Hey guys! What does this mean for people intending to apply in like 2021? Like, I know I don't have that kind of money for a down payment. Will I have to work for a bit before actually applying?

I don't think anyone knows what entrance to med will be like in 5-6 years time You're really best off worrying about VCE now, and worry about GAMSAT and all that jazz once you've got a handle of your uni studies.

Are you applying for undergrad med? At places like JCU? If not, why not? (and if so, awesome!)

Congratulations and commiserations as appropriate. Unfortunately entry is a non-transparent, competitive process that means it's really difficult to know anything about your individual application and why others differ.

What do you mean a down payment? If you take a non full-fee place then you won't have to pay anything other than living costs etc.
And as above, nobody has any idea what the system will be like in 2021

Yeah thanks. I know I shouldn't be worrying about this stuff, I'm just thinking about my pathways. I want to do medicine, but I've still only thought of Victorian universities...not interstate (yet). Who knows...who knows...All i have to do now is the VCE, get into my course and study hard to keep up that lovely GPA!

Yes they're both CSPs, so you don't need to worry about down-payments. The government subsidises your fees and then you pay it back when you start working. All unis will offer CSP but there are some spots that are FFP, which are often allocated to internationals or local students who are at the bottom end of the intake (if you're willing to pay).

I really do want to do medicine. I'm still in year 12, and I didn't do Chemistry, or UMAT for that matter so no undergrad medicine for me. I'm aiming to do the apparent impossible task of the whole graduate medicine thing. I have a few questions:

- Why did people who got like 70+ in the GAMSAT not get interviews? Low GPAs?
- Is the whole MBBS at Gippsland thing only really possible for Biomed kids? I know about the 25 rule.

It's possible if you're enrolled at a specificed degree outlined by the Monash Medical Faculty.

I can't remember, but around here somewhere. GAMSAT results thread maybe...I'm going to do the BEng/BSc (BSc with my electives being the three prerequisites and other Bio/Chem based Science, and the BEng, just in case it doesn't work out ) I don't know what to major in though, does it have to be health science based? I would do math otherwise.
