Can I make comment that's non-aesthetic and from long before the site change?
What do people think about the removal of gender on profiles?
I recognise that people can lie about it (as they can with anything), or be gender-fluid or not want to reveal it for whatever reason (in which case they don't have to, it's always up to them). But overall, I feel that anything that makes us think of people more as human beings rather than utterly faceless words on a screen is positive. Even something as basic as thinking of X as a girl makes you think of her a bit more like a real person, which then makes you more likely to treat her with respect. Imho.
(Plus, there's nothing more awkward than meeting a tutor/student when you'd pictured a girl and it's actually a guy

OK not really, I was meeting a random from AN at a station and didn't know if he was guy or girl, but knowing would have halved the people I was looking out for).
